You will never find common ground if your first intention is to be proven "right". If you are too blinded to see other people's points of view over your own, then no matter how pure the intention, if it tramples on the choices of others, overriding their choices and making you think that you are above them, you will never see eye to eye with others. There is no common ground.

Listening is one thing; insisting that your way is the only way is unwise and naive. Failing to see others' views apart from your own is evidence of naivety. Only time and life can teach you otherwise.

You cannot reason with these people if they choose only to see their own world, hear their own voice, and feel their own feelings. The inability to empathise is a journey in itself.

If anything, I have learned as the old expression goes:

>you cannot teach a dog new tricks if it refuses to unlearn the old ones.

In short, your beliefs are so ingrained in you that you ignore others' beliefs and where they come from. Until life teaches you the harsh reality, there is no logic that can teach you otherwise.
