Would it be possible to append the data:image/png,base64: prefix to it so its a valid URL?

I'm just worried about guessing the minetype in the app since I'm not sure if the mimetype would change

Absolutely, I'll copy this thread into an issue and push the change in the next couple of days after I get on top of some other work that's threatening to become urgent

also what client did you use to post this reply?

Its nip-10 "root" tag is messed up and its breaking the threading in the client I'm using
