X’er here. I’m a dad, but I respect the moms with the beautiful families way more than the party girls- you all are building the future.

To your last point, though, this conversation keeps coming up with my 40-50 something acquaintances. We’re all sandwiched, as you describe. At the same time, a lot of us are also starting to do quite well materially (not all bitcoiners, either). From the conversations I’m having, most of us aren’t going to keep working till 80 (our fathers), nor go sit on a beach/golf course at 65. Most of us plan to start stepping back, ditching the 9-5, but planning to be healthy, and long living, get paid to do things we truly love. At some point, not even being too concerned whether it is paid or volunteered. I hope we’re right.

Well, at least having kids young means that those two phases don't overlap, as heavily.
