Are there any BTC miners for the average non technical Joe? And that doesn't cost and arm & leg for it. And actually are good.

Think not, but asking anyhow. Please be gentle with any responses 🤍

Pick up used cheap miners on Amazon. I have seen s9 for $70-$100. Great place start down the mining rabbit hole. When it breaks not the biggest deal in the world. The education is priceless, though, Nelly.

If Kaboom racks is cheaper then go that route. Look at your budget and act accordingly. You get more support from Kaboom racks but prices would be higher I believe.

nostr:npub1sd3wwlvl6f58yzs4ss90x07e4dwd7yl6h3n0pygpz9vqjcxd99aq90vwne bought some S9’s pretty cheap over the summer. We have one warming the sunroom where the kittens reside when we’re gone. And more preheating the air for the heat pump. They have been doing a great job for us. Hubby could tell you the specs and where he bought them.

Kaboom racks! That is we’re we got ours.

What’s your level of non-technicality? #BitAxe and #NerdMiners are relatively easy to setup — you access a web portal through a local WiFi to get them up and running. There are also some tutorials available, and we Plebs are always available to help!

I have a Nerdminer. Actually convinced our friends over there to Join Nostr. I'll take a look at BitAxe. Thank you.

Amazing! BitAxe is very efficient, goes up to 500Gh/s and consumes very little. It’s also FOSS so you could build your own or just buy a prebuilt one.

As a beginner myself, can you run a node and confirm tx's and get paid for that?? Instead of going full on mining

You have to pay for a miner? LMFAO

I was just thinking about this myself. Seems like we need more non-pool/solo miners.

S9 is 125$. I saw some S17 for 325$. I don’t have any experience with S17 but it has a higher hashrate (and power consumption than the S9)

S9 is a good starting point and costs like 80usd

You can grab an M30S++ for $1,000 or an M50 for a little more. If you want to pay up for more efficient machines you can check out the M60 series. Whatsminers are more robust than Antminers.

Here's an interesting website showing profitability of various rigs:

Have always wondered myself about mining--but have also seen videos and these things are LOUD - does anyone know if there are any quiet miners?
