its sad to see that instead of showing the world that we could do so much more with lightning network, for example replacing rails like SEN and SIGNET as fast settlement networks, we are dealing with another feud/agenda in the space, introducing irreversible breaking changes to CLN that destroy functionality for anyone using lnurl making tons of great applications unusable on CLN.

Sure the changes have been announced sooner and everyone could've prepared etc etc etc, thats just bad excuses and ass covering. Its irresponsible from a standpoint of being a critical payment infrastructure to break your users use cases which you are clearly aware of.

You are not incentivizing "proper protocol development" with this, you are making lightning env more hostile to its users and making lightning network less inviting because if nobody gives a shit about the real users and we're just doing mental masturbation with technical development why the fuck would anyone use it then?

I was about to migrate to CLN for some of my personal use cases but behavior like that turned me off that idea completely.

We really need to get our act together as an industry and stop jerking around and having this petty disagreements and flexes across companies and implementations. That also goes for lnd/LL because dragging your feet to provide serious enterprise backend while playing with Taro is also sloppy, everyone doing anything at scale with lnd is worried/has problems about bbolt and would need better scaling and sane access to database. The amount of brilliant technical effort that goes into stitching together infrastructure and hackish solution could be used much more productively and making a real impact in the ecosystem and broader society
