I’ll be reposting some music via Snort to play with zap splits

I’m considering this approach for splits, what am I doing wrong?

ZapSplit music:

Producers weight of 12 (includes musician)

PerformerSongwriters weight of 12 (combined)

Arranger (mix) weight of 4

Media Storage weight of 4

Production hub 2

Publisher weight of 2

Publishing client weight of 2

I’d add reposter weight of 2

And playback client weight of 2 if I could

This way the makers get 2/3 and the rest gets 1/3

How would you split it? What would you add or remove?

Yes, they can all be divided by 2… 🤣 playing with numbers as I wrote it

U so smart gek

Honestly I can't think of any reason to do it differently

confused with the weights. can you explain or is there a guide? i want to experiment as well

Amethyst works with percentages, just set % for each.

Snort works with weight, each npub gets a multiplier. The result will still be percentages. But, weighting can make calculation a bit faster when splitting.

For example: (weight) [%]

Producer (18) [32.14%]

Rapper (18) [32.14%]

Arranger (6 )[10.71%]

Media Host (6) [10.71%]

Publisher Pleb (2) [3.57%]

Pub Client (2) [3.57%]

Production Hub (4) [7.14%]

Total of 56 points

3/4 go to the makers of the content in this case. Weight is just simpler for me math wise, especially when there are multiple npubs per category.

So it’s just that with the weight you can pick your mathematical base.

In snort, you need to enable advanced and scroll to bottom to find the splits.

Curious to see how you”d split them, I’m halfway between royalties and costs recoupements. But, the legacy model is broken so…
