GOT IT! started messing around and i did two things, installed the "allfonts" dependency (i don't think this was the trick) and changed the runner to wine-ge-proton with DXVK disabled. loaded like a dream!

also, i've read something about an issue with the Esync so i turned it to "System" and added this in the Launch Options (since apparently it crashes without it: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
