if you don't watch a popular show just wait a few days after it's over and everyone will not only stop asking if you have seen it but they will forget about it altogether, having moved on to the new popular show they will ask you about instead

in the meantime just say 'i plan to watch it, no spoilers' and they'll leave you alone
