I miss the days when I actually owned the media I purchase, not just a license to use it.

Growing up, my N64 was my favorite gaming console. So many classic games that I thoroughly enjoyed.

When the switch came out, I was super excited about it. But I soured on it because of how Nintendo does a lot of their business.

It would be really cool to be able to use Nostr or something similar to forever establish ownership of media and give me a way to prove that ownership later on and redownload that media as needed and be allowed to use it anyway I prefer, on whatever hardware I desire.

i canceled all streaming subscriptions a while back and started buying random movie dvd packs on ebay. you dont know what youll get. its great fun, the same price as a streaming service, and you grow a collection

That’s awesome! My wife and I have a wild idea where you can rent DVDs and a dvd player and make it very nostalgic lol would probably be a total money pit but I miss those days

usb dvd players are super cheap.
