Just had a power cut at home, we get them often.

Any recommendations for UPS’s for Umbrel & Start9 nodes.

Also need to UPS the router.

UPS (ex models from APC, CyberPower) that will work with Linux and the software (NUT) that are there.

I have one of these will give you about an hour with a Dell optiplex micro. Would recommend. Everything has been almost perfectly stable since using it, I think you have many more power cuts than you realise when out in the sticks.

Thank you. Looks perfect 🙏

I use this Mike. It will give about an 75 minutes running Node, Router, and ISP device (fiber). At least you can do a graceful shutdown if needed and around. Be careful when searching, some UPS won’t automatically restart your devices when power comes back on.

I bought a no name brand VaeTuka solar power station that just fits in the side compartments in my semi. It has about 1,900 Wh capacity with UPS backup function... I was reading specs, and it's only got a cutover response time of like 10ms which may not be enough for some sensitive or high draw appliances, but then I thought, why not pair it with the traditional UPS under-desk brick and get the best of both worlds, fast cutover and long battery life. Just mix and match to get the system specs you want?

APC is my top recommendation. A 550VA would work wonders. It can turn off your node gracefully when power goes out with apcupsd. Don’t use it till batteries are drained all the time or you’ll be replacing the lead battery often.
