put together a new D&D character with my teen. He insisted I come up with a believable backstory, which I did. I am fully confident my character will die on the first night of the campaign.

Our DM implemented a rule in order to utilize his new 30 sider die. I think this is how it went.
1. Role 8 sided die for hit. Role 4-8 you hit, 2-3 you miss and role a 1 you throw hour weapon. Thrown weapons get triple damage (DM rule).
2. Everyone in the party and enemies role for random number designation on the 30 sided die.
3. Role 30 sided die to see if the thrown weapon hits anyone in party including enemies.
No shit, my friend missed, threw his weapon, hit himself for triple damage, and killed himself.
