LONG POST!
Here is a sad story but very important/normal in my country.
Because of my past career in real estate I met a lot of very interesting people. Some nice some absolute twats..
I met this one dude (38 years old) who when I first met him he was very humble and driving a normal pickup truck - we interacted on a rental home and then he ghosted me for about 18 months.. I always make sure to save contacts (next post about my wife) so when they call 18 months later you remember their story.
He calls and now wants to buy a house - so we go through the list and we settle on a pretty decent place ($200k) - deal is mortgaged which I thought was normal. Deal doesn’t go through because the owner wanted $2500 more and took to long to sign the offer - so his wife got frustrated and went through another agent.. whatever it worked out better for them.. but we stayed in contact..
We became pretty close buddies and I always wondered like what he really does..
He is/was into commodities (coal, chrome, gold etc) - so we spend a lot of time together when he moved into the estate and I always slipped some BTC knowledge in and he was always very curious - I even bought the dude a Trezor because we planned he was gonna buy $500k worth of BTC at $16k..
I’d setup everything for him - remember this dude was making $2 500 000 per month - I saw the money in his bank account - that’s how close we were..
Fast forward 2.5 years - he is bankrupt.. and obviously he never bought the BTC.
What’s the lesson here for me.. not everyone will get it and not everyone is ready to take control of their emotions and finances..
He is young enough and smart enough I believe to get himself out the hole but buying 31BTC will never be possible…
