Yeah. Some guy on a bus told me about it and I thought it sounded crazy. I couldn't understand why people would want fake internet money.

Yes, I didn't really understand it until the pandemic inflation.

I'm pretty sure the guy on the bus was Nick Szabo, but I'm not quite sure. It happened so long ago.

I first heard about it in 2011, but it wasn't described well. I then rediscovered it in 2016.
