It's be baller if I could set the background color of any note simply by typing the hex before any other text, URL, etc.

Like this.

--------------------------------------------

#CC0000

This is a note and the background color is Texas Tech red.

--------------------------------------------

Bonus if the text color was automagically set to the contrasting color by typing #CC0000-text

Just a thought.

Id like a client to make it more prominent if its a POW post

#Amethyst tells you the pow amount

yes, but i think it would be cool if the note was colored differently or outlined as an option. then again, so many other things worth focusing on

Good point. Color and shit can wait for sure as it's simply aesthetic. But, as you say, combining the idea with PoW . . . I really like that idea because if I invoked #CC0000 but for it to execute I'd have to spend some compute then it'd be simple for clients to have a filter to only show PoW notes. Being able to change a color would just be something cool I'd get for spending the cycles.

Is this the NIP-13 thing?

Yeah
