Ok, but it seems to me that 5-6 relays isn’t really that many to cover every followers.
primal only has 1 and it seems ok for most people. nostr.wine, nostr.land, damus relay, primal relay. the majority of people are there. for everything else we can use the outbox model.
By the way, it would be nice to have way to remove relay without removing them from the UI so I can reconnect them later on. A reason, I don’t like removing relays is because I would need to write down their address on a piece of paper if I want to reconnect them. Especially, when I’m seeing spam there isn’t an easy good way to test which relay(s) is in cause.

I’ve had an iCloud note with all of my relays since 2022 and I just keep updating it.
we're moving away from users manually configuring their relays... most people won't need to do that
Wouldn’t this negatively impact the censorship resistance nature of #nostr?
If only a few relays are chosen by providers or is it different any from a centralized social media service from a censorship standpoint?
What if we had a Join Relay button (that’s either connected to a payment or free depending on the conditions) within the app, and you could select them similar to how Ecash mint discoverability works in Zeus, based on recommendations from other users. 
I’ve noticed a performance boost and fewer crashes since reducing my number of relays.
