If your not first your last

Noob question, but are lightning channels better created like this (direct person to person) or through peers that can be found in the node itself?

Makes no difference imo.

There's a diff in quality of nodes so some nodes are better to connect to than others (more tx = more chance to route). But the way you find them has no bearing.

Is it better to buy Bitcoin direct thru dm or through local bitcoins? Makes no difference once the corn is in your pocket.

That makes sense that’s what I thought, thanks for the clarification !

Although I will say that when you open with someone that you can connect and communicate with, it adds a social layer that I personally love. In case nodes go offline or need maintenance, it’s nice to be able to chat about it ☺️ I used to open with complete strangers but I now prioritize #Nodestriches 🫂 ⚡️

Yea I can see that aspect as well. Just set my raspberry pi up again after moving and getting everything in order and want to start playing around with the lightning node now, def a lot to learn and experiment with. It’s be exciting thank you all for the info!

Hit us up when you’re ready⚡️💜

Will do ! Thanks again!

Why don’t we make a triangle swap 🔼⚡️💜🧡

We are already in a ring of fire together

Oh hell yeah ❤️‍🔥

Any benefit if #[5]and I open a channel together? That would effectively make us a triangle of fire no? Or would we just be parking sats unnecessarily since #[4] and I are already connected?

Asking as me and you are not connected directly again that’s why I recommended we do another ring

As long as me and you***

If we each connect to #[4]i think it would set up below?

Correct ⚡️🔼⚡️ #[2] I can open to you

You want to start a pentagon on lightning plus so we can keep track?!

Yes!

I'm down for whatever! Might need to refill with some funds but I'm game. Lmk!

Sounds about right.

Check your DMs

Although I agree a ring would be more efficient since you guys are already connected

We can’t both open to #[3] in a triangle but can in a ring/pentagon
