Had a couple things happen at work over the last couple days that made me reflect on my first 3 weeks using Nostr (Gnaw-ster).
The first was yesterday. Two of my co-workers had a 45 minute conversation dredging the bottom of Jeffrey Epstein's degeneracy, it was like r/conspiracy come to life. About five minutes in I thought to myself,
"I should figure out what bird photo I should use for my bird note tonight."
Then I went to the warehouse and did some restock work while I dreamed of birds.
The second was today. A customer wanted to talk, and eventually we came to the point where they want to show me something on their phone. This leads to a few minutes of doom scrolling, and a conversation about all the news that feeds their fear and anxiety. The whole time I was thinking to myself,
"I should make big zappy eyed pictures of #[0] and #[1] like I did with #[2] , that made me laugh."
That helped me ignore everything they said, and kept my sanity intact.
So congratulations and thanks to Nostr, all the devs, all the plebs, and even the trolls. You've made social media positive, and you're somehow more sane than the real world. I 💜 you guys!
I'm going to zap âš¡100 to everybody's first comment on this thread. I'd love to hear of your similar experiences, a good recipe, or just whatever. I'll keep zapping till I run out of sats or ability to stay awake!
