After 23 years in New York City, I took a gamble two weeks ago and moved my family into a house in New Jersey 😅

New York is a tough city, and after hitting rock bottom, they can rebuild it again.

This happens in 20 years cycles 🔄

Im not sure it will survive this.

NYC is like that Chumbawamba song 🤙🏻

But I agree this is gonna fun to watch from across the Hudson River

Kind of dreamt of living on Park Ave as a poor student with the rich farts when I was in my 20s. Today, maybe one of the worst places to think of.

I wish you could’ve seen the upper East side with the Roosevelt Hotel migrant center

The stream of crazy notifications on the citizen app, and to think that wasn’t rock-bottom 🤯

Spent some time at 165E 86th in the German Kolping Community as a poor student a long time ago. The most interesting place for me at that time. Today the area is a nightmare. And you cannot even live with fam on a 200k salary on the Upper East side.

Kolping was 88th street I guess

I spent all of last week plastering and repainting my one bedroom apartment to put it up for rent

You need to earn $240,000 per year just to qualify in the application process

I bought that apartment 10 years ago, I couldn’t afford it today.

Headed out of the city recently as well. It’s too far gone now.

New York City is different than the rest of New York State, and every other state for that matter.

New York City is a complete dump because they don’t enforce their laws or suicidal standards
