How?

5G

Have a small, built-in relay, instead of a database or a cache.

Amethyst already uses around 1gb of ram, it needs a lot of optimization before something like that. Plus how much data would it use?

Amethyst is ngmi, sorry. Big Ball of Mud.

It had a nice run, tho.

What clients do you suggest?

Nostrudel, Coracle, Freerse might eventually get a final release, and I'm looking forward to Damus Android.

FUD lord 😂

Anytime.

To get even more data and power hungry?

Run your relay and own your data.

It would be nice to have some very lightweight clients that allow for very selective and (almost) manual data download. Almost like an email client. This could work for bad internet and/or power saving situations. Not sure how big of a niche this is though.

Local comms features (direct wifi/bt connection) if you're in the range of someone. That would be also useful at times.

(just thinking out loud here)

P2P all the way.

SIR, IS THAT AN ORDER, SIR?

Yes. All my personal clients across mobile, desktop, etc. should be a personal distributed data store.
