Employees being "bribed' for data by outsiders doesn't mean anything legally because employees voluntarily sold the data. This isn't" being hacked".

This is plain data theft by Coinbase employees, and failure to protect data by Coinbase itself.

Not rocket science.

Social engineering implies that attackers made employees believe they were legitimately entitled to customer data.

Since we know that employees voluntarily exchanged customer data for money, it makes little sense that Coinbase was hacked in any sense of the word.
