But should they have a veto? If you want to sell your DNA for $5, should they be able to block the transaction? What about grandparents, grandkids, cousins? :)

Also good points. While it is your body, it is not solely your genetics. So perhaps your family should have some say in the matter, or it shouldn't be done at all. I'm not sure which is best. It's sort of like if there was some property that had been in your family for generations. It shouldn't be up to just one person to decide how to dispose of it, in my opinion.
