Okay, so the Cogeco router lets you leave a blanke secondary DNS. Bell routers never did so they required me to run my own DHCP server while Cogeco can set the only DNS to my DNS sink. Cogeco restricts custom DHCP serversz at least immediately, so they are both limited in their own ways.

At least I have a good degree of comtrol on the network again.
