I've been using Fedora kde for a long time, the normal spin on my main pc and the kinoite in an old macbook that I use as media center connected to my TV. The experience is fantastic.

KDE not being the "default" DE of all major distributions is to me the hardest to understand fact of the linux ecosyste. KDE is not only superior to the alternatives but it also offers a smaller learn curve for newcomers.
