I prefer the Tangem Wallet, no battery needed, resistance against high and low temperatures and even EMP protection.

It's really NOT a good idea to trust wallets that aren't bitcoin only. Many of them have had customer data breaches in the past. I think you should just switch to the Jade. Your coins, your responsibility. Your choice.

I appreciate the reply, might have to look in to that but at least my coins aren't on an exchange.

Also If I want I can only set it to bitcoin, it's optional to add other coins.

That's a very uninformed reason for using a wallet like Tangem. Not having your coins on an exchange can't make up for lost coins if they ever experiences a data breach. And they certainly won't reimburse you if they ever do experience one.

Not open-source and not Bitcoin only. You're taking an unnecessary risk by placing your trust in them, imho. You should switch to the Jade. Again, they're your coins, your responsibility.

To be fair tangem is open source that's the whole reason I got one oh and because they are located in Switzerland which has better privacy rules then most countries.

I think you might wanna take a look at them you would be surprised how open they are, it's not like ledger who is storing your seed phrases on their cloud or trezor who has being breached a couple of times. And so far I never had any issues with tangem or there app.

Ok. My mistake. I still don't trust them. But, given the way a tangem wallet functions, why not just use a coldcard? They operate in a very similar fashion.

That's fair and to be honest I never heard of the jade before so I would like to thank you for giving me that information. I might wanna take a look at that 2. Sometimes it's better to have 2 options 1 for big money/savings and the other for small money/spending.

So we might both have a good point here 😉🫂

I've been looking into tangem more. I take back my previous statement. Coldcard does not function like them in any way. Tangem does have an interesting take on security and seed generation, though. But, I can't seem to shake the feeling that that level of simplicity for security seems a bit disadvantageous when needing to rely on a mobile app. I've personally never used the Blockstream Green mobile wallet for that very reason. The level of security Coldcard has for its user kind of puts Tangem to shame, tbh.

I can understand your not a fan of the software apps. As long as I can download the source and run it from my own PC I personally don't have issues with it for now, but I do like your way of thinking.

I have to look in to the coldwallet more I guess, again appreciate the information you gave me.

Zero out of 1,600,000 cards hacked since creation.

The Tangem firmware has two independent audits under its belt: first in 2018 by the Swiss company Kudelski Security and another in 2023 by Riscure, an international security lab. Both audits confirmed that the firmware has no backdoors or vulnerabilities, is not updatable, and contains no hidden algorithms.

I would like to invite you to take a look at tangem because from what I can gather it offers the same as the jade but has a longer track record and gives you the option of 2 or 3 backup cards to keep you safe and a 25 years warranty.

That's true. They do have a good track record. I guess, it's just my personal bias against shitcoin wallets. I use both the Jade and Coldcard. Coldcard strictly for big holdings because it stores all transaction data offline on a microsd card.

Never heard of the coldcard might wanna take a look at that to, thanks for the extra information. Really appreciate our conversation so far 🫂
