The minimum wage, it's barely enough for anything! The capitalists are squeezing us!

Wait...let me lay down some facts.

The minimum wage, let's assume it's 450 baht per day, which means 450 baht for 7 hours of work plus 1 hour break or 6 hours of work plus 1 hour break in case of dangerous jobs. So, the hourly rate for part-time work would be 56.25 baht per hour.

Regarding overtime (OT) work, the employee must be paid 1.5 times the normal rate for working overtime, 2 times for working on holidays, and 3 times for working on holidays and overtime on the same day.

(This rate come from the Thailand Labour Laws )

So, let's say someone works 14 hours per day, which can be divided into 2 cases:

1. Working overtime: 450 + (450/8 * 6 * 1.5) = 956.25 baht per day.

2. Taking part-time jobs as additional income: 450 + (450/8 * 6) = 787.5 baht per day.

For an employee who works up to 6 days per week, there will be one day off. This means:

1. They will earn up to 1,912.5 baht on that day.

2. They will earn 1,575 baht on that day.

I saw a video of someone spending money according to the minimum wage of 450 baht and trying to claim that it's not enough. Many people probably talk about other issues a lot. So, I tried to calculate what it's like to be a minimum wage worker, but even if you work hard and spend less, saving in a non-depreciating currency, you can still improve your life in the long run.

Work hard, stay humble, and stack sats.

Ps. Earning nearly 2,000 baht per day according to the calculation is true, but who would hire you? Haha!
