I definitely have some more listening to do now :)

Well, if you're into Amorphis then I have two recommendations for you from opposite ends of the spectrum of sounds that I pick up from them (at least, this album that you shared):

On the "deathier" side: https://song.link/us/i/276901917

On the "proggier" side: https://song.link/us/i/1197816412

Yes, Opeth is familiar to me a bery progressive death metal. And as I read on Spotify an ex Opeth member, Martin Lopez was a guest amongst other in one Amorphis album.

I didn't know Symphony X, as I listen just now, it's also a progressive band. The keyboardist is a virtuous (the guitarist too, like the Dragonforce guitarists). The lead vocalist voice is between Ronnie James Dio and Miles Kennedy. I put thimese bands to my following list, thx!

But if you want to losten some mlre death metal there is the Dimmu Borgir. I've found them by accident too because their strange name. That's Norwegian, means Dark Castle. The music is full of symphonic tunes mixed with snoring. A bit strange for me.

If I want to listen some more melodic metal, I'd rather listen Powerwolf or Sabaton. They are not death metal, Powerwolf is a Church metal, Sabaton is similar.

Wow, Symphony X is very melodic and progressive, I just listen the 'Pharaoh'

Was literally just listening to Dimmu Borgir. I saw them in concert back in 2007. What an experience that was! Like going to satanic church. Surreal.

Wow, I heard this band only in Youtube. It was some death metalnfestival. You are right, it's really surrealistic a symphonic orchestra mixed with death metal :-)
