Ok, you are right. $90 for a BitAxe + the cost of a light bulb power every month to cast my vote in the network. 😁

Of course a figure of speech is just that.

All that energy with no reward is energy you could spend doing another productive activity.

But it ain't much energy, it's also nearly impossible to hit a block with one....

The amount of education I’ve received with a tiny device is beyond the participation fee.

It’s much more of a principle over profit approach and it’s in my blood. So I’m happy with the opportunity to cast my hash.

To each their own. 🫂

I totally feel that. Valid justification.

I get a lot of enjoyment from the bitaxe.

Makes you feel like you're part of something bigger than yourself.

It's also just a cool thing, it's fascinating.

You could run a very small grow light and in combination with natural light from a window maybe grow a couple cannabis plants for the same amount of energy.

But like I'm not going to get sent to prison for running at bitaxe (at least not yet)

The actual expensive part is the internet.

It might use a very small amount of data but the bandwidth requirements are expensive.

Running more than one bitaxe on the starlink creates noticeable lag, running one bitaxe on mobile data makes it completely unusable for anything else.

I am of course talking about an Australian issue that doesn't apply to most people outside of Australia.

In places where the government did not give 100 billion dollars to a corporation to take control over the internet you probably don't have this issue
