Reasons? Spear best item?
The 40 water tablets wont last 365 days.
The trap will likely not survive for 365 days, same with the robe.
But if you had an Axe you could build a shelter, and would not need an tarp and robe.
And with the axe you can cut some wood for fires, and you will need to make like 365 fires. Pretty hard to cut a tree into chunks with a bowie knife.
You could make the 40 matches last 365 days if you build the fire in a way that there is still some glows left in the ashes next morning that you can re-use. (the fire wont die out more than 40 times in a year)
+ A pot to cook and eat your food is pretty nice.
How would you cook your food without a pot of some sort?
You could grill meat on a stick, but you are really limited in what you can cook then. For 365 days.
You cant even cook a potato in boiling water or something like that.
Id go A) cause my tarp game is rock solid.

B. Biggest reason being the pot. It can disinfect fresh water every day, and if that's salt water it'll be much easier to distill to fresh with a pot.
