repost the poll please!
I run an adult relay at adult.18plus.social and UK laws apply so yes to FSSW as well as online, and no SESTA/FOSTA worries :-) I also sell my porn for sats at badbutlerxxx.com/shop using a getalby wordpress extention to avoid platform fees and rules :-)
Nostr is perfect for adult, we just need to bring everyone. My twitter is @PaulJonesAIR
cheers :-)
Following 💫 Love this! Goals!
I agree we need the shift from Twitter. For now I’m using both as well. Twitter @onyxvixen333
Do many relays restrict content? I would worry that a porn relay would become a target for censors.
But that will happen for sure, the point is, having access to a relay you will not be censored.
This is nostr's proposal, without censorship!
I run an adult relay adult.18plus.social . I require that content be UK legal, because I am bound by UK law. In many ways of course, those laws are far more permissive than those in the USA :-)
How do you mean more permissive? I thought that, by world and historical standards, US laws are very permissive. The bigger problem in the US is that governments at all levels are willing to use extralegal means to harass porn creators and distributors. For example, the Obama era “Operation Chokepoint” didn’t pass any laws or write any regulations. The Department of Justice just let banks know that although it was perfectly legal for them to do business with the porn industry, they might be investigated for fraud or money laundering if they did. Even today, You can’t pay PornHub with a credit card.
Escorting is legal. US Relays that allow escorts to be clear about what they do, will eventually be told by either LEO or Lawyers about SESTA/FOSTA. Twitter gets away with it because under their previous ownership they made it clear they'd take it to the Supreme Court. Most relay operators couldn't do that.
The Pornhub thing was because they allowed illegal material - minors - so the card companies kicked them out. You can still buy porn with cards. But card rules are such that you can;t buy some legal porn with cards.
Permmissive also isn't just law, its environment. On paper Russia is a democracy.
Twitter is no exception; they are currently being sued thanks to FOSTA, and sex workers are no longer welcome to do business there. PornHub, like many sites, allows user uploads and sometimes users break their terms of service. Unlike those other sites, they are singled out for persecution by anti-porn activists.
Twitter clearly planning to fight SESTA/FOSTA then, because they don't act is if they are worried.
Rule 1 of campaigning, pick the obvious baddie, use them to make your point. They picked PornHub. PH started by letting anyone upload anything, including ripped and stolen scenes that companies had invested in producing. Manwin started with piracy to build a brand, then tried to become a "good guy" but their old habits died hard and they had too many smoking guns.
I've been involved in many campaigns over the years and I'm not going to be shocked or complain when the other side knows the playbook :-)
The card companies brought in lots of extra compliance for platforms as a result of PornHub. In effect they forced the platforms to follow the same rules as normal publisher porn sites and closed the UGC loophole.
I run such a relay. ALL relays will have to abide by their country rules re content. I do. I also WANT better tagging - no one see porn unless they want to - and RELAY based feeds. This means the porn is on porn, but also Miami Relay in effect becomes for the people of Miami and you get community building.
Because ALL community is small at heart. Be it the porn one, or the good people of Miami. At least i assume they are good. CSI isn't a documentary, is it? :-)
I already run adult.18plus.social - not just porn. UK laws mean escorting is fine too, which any US adult relay player will find, I'll go with problematic :-) SESTA/FOSTA are the keywords.
