Come home to Debian

Alas, Arch runs better on my system. My laptop is a very recent model and Debian doesn't even boot on it.

I do use Ubuntu in the cloud though - considering switching to pure Debian there because I have no need for snaps.

ah have you tried the latest Bookworm? It will be the next Stable release and has a newer kernel and was just frozen.

I haven't yet, no.

It might work though. 6.1 kernel was what I used on Arch when I first installed. Still had to install linux-firmware-git to get everything functional though. I'm sure I can do the same on Debian. I had to download the firmware from kernel.org on another machine running Ubuntu recently.

It's the only disadvantage to running bleeding edge hardware.
