Yah definitely not designed for it. With SD you really only have to delete one pass.* As long as it’s a physical and not a logical deletion. The latter just marks it free. The Guttman method was intended for platter drives from over 30yrs ago and he revised as drives changed. And solid state stores w/ gates.

* That being said; unless you can verify what’s inside and you had a seedphrase on it, I’m with fishcake.

I’d say 6 times does the job nicely to delete the data. Once, then probably not. Consumer grade storage doesn’t over provision block too much, cost! 🐶🐾🫡
