RIP. I saw a “note” from Jack Dorsey a few months ago saying it’s only bitcoin heavy right now because it was the first community here. Apparently when twitter first launched they had a mainly tech based community, this being similar but bitcoin. Apparently if more people come here then it’ll become less about crypto.

Although, I feel like it won’t. With “zaps” and all these NIP05 things it’s just too complicated for the average social media user, I just don’t think it’ll become mainstream. And they’re not gonna remove them anytime soon so yeah I’d agree you have to know about crypto to use this properly which sucks.

Hope it changes (if possible) because this protocol is interesting but for now my favourite is Bluesky just because it’s not just crypto posts. Mastodon is just rubbish 🤣
