I'd like to know also. I've been unable to go 100% because certain payments needing IBAN 🤔
Yeah I guess that’s alright for me as well. I don’t think there’s a way for me to receive payment from my employer in BTC directly. I’d be ok with moving my money out of that account each month and live off BTC if I find a way to do that though. Hence the question: how do I do that? 😂
If you're gonna be moving around I guess you can use btcmap to find vendors accepting btc directly. I used Coinbase debit card, it uses the VISA rails so I was able to pay in most stores, and it can do subscription services. It converts from your btc balance against current marketprice. Major downside is it's a custodial wallet. I used it for everything except rent and utilities.
I was looking into CB card too, but being based in Switzerland that’s currently not an option unfortunately.
Also: is there any card provider also accepting Lightning? I’d prefer salary -> convert to BTC -> cold storage -> when needed fund payment provider via lightning or pay directly via lightning.
I’m fine with deducting fix costs like phone Plan etc directly from bank account but would prefer lightning directly as well.
I don't know if there's any card providers that accept lightning, it's been a while since I did the research. There's small card providers out there that offer btc related services with IBAN capabilities, but none that seemed trustworthy enough to me. Would love to hear what/if you find?
You can buy visa international virtual gift cards (no KYC) on https://thebitcoincompany.com/ for sats.
So far card is denominated in US$ (transaction fees apply), but apparently card in € is coming soon.
Add the card to your Google Pay (I haven't tried it with apple pay) and you can pay contactless at the store where visa is accepted.

You use your sats to buy this card. You'll get visa prepaid card charged with US$.
It works immediately.. You'll get virtual visa card number, add it to Google Pay. That's all.

Use Tor browser (or VPN).
Go to their website.
Create an account (use a burner email).
Buy visa international prepaid with sats (small amount first just for the testing)
Activate it (they block IP addresses of VPN providers, but not all).
Add visa card to a smartphone which is not linked to your identity (any cheep android phone with nfc will do, no need to insert any sim card into it)
Pay contactless with visa at the store.
