Best thing is to just say you’re still into it but nothing crazy. “I have some just in case. I only put in what I don’t mind losing”.
Then people agree with you & buy it. It’s their idea at that point.

I downshifted him to acquaintance. Also, gave up drinking a year ago & he’s a heavy boozer. Not a bad thing but we have much less, to nothing, in common now without booze. Oh well.

Drinking is a waste of time & money. And I wanted to break a family cycle of normalizing it at every event etc. Kids, neices, nephews now see less drinking so it’s a good thing for sure.
Also, I’m too busy shitposting now & building my strong case against Batman. Lots of documents to review & video files, interviews etc. Major drop coming at some point in the next 5 years or so.
Blow the whole case wide open.
