As a proponent of parallel legal systems and private law, I actually find this development encouraging.
I think Christians should also operate outside of the State's courts:

Why have the government decide what marriage and divorce is when they have no idea according to God's laws? They will allow virtually anyone to marry, regardless of whether they are the same sex, and grant divorce for any or no reason at all.
