1-2 years ago I saw a post on twitter saying something like this: "What if it's just a bunch of us degens on twitter?". Not in the context of node runners but it was something similar.

Yes, I can’t understand why more people don’t run a node. At least run a pruned node!
While I'm running a bunch of them now because I'm a node degenerate that can't resist trying them all (plus having a handy work network for the IBDs), I was definitely nervous on that first MyNode setup about 3 years ago: It felt dangerous to do for some nebulous "Big Brother" or "Dark Web Hacker" ish reason. I get similar vibes from my normie buddies and meetup folks I help now: might be a part of the story.
