Dear plabies and gentleplebs, it's time for another weekly #plebreads novel recommendation from my all-time favourites!
This time I bring you the Cradle series by Will Wight.
The first novel in the series is "Unsouled".
294 pages, published june 2016.
Genres: Epic fantasy, high fantasy, progression fantasy, with a "litRPGish" vibe.
Goodreads synopsis: Sacred artists follow a thousand Paths to power, using their souls to control the forces of the natural world.
Lindon is Unsouled, forbidden to learn the sacred arts of his clan.
When faced with a looming fate he cannot ignore, he must defy his family's rules...and forge his own Path.
Richard Nell(one of my recent favourite authors)'s review: Lit-rpgish/epic fantasy where a kid born weak starts powering up, and oh yeah maybe the world and/or galaxy and/or universe kinda needs him to hurry the hell up.
Well-written, clever, and 100% has that more-ish pull that makes you kind of angry and sweaty until you buy the next book. God damnit Will Wight.
My review: I second Richard Nell's words -> God damnit Will Wight! This is one of those that consume your life until you finish it. It's a quick read but there are eleven novels published already in this series so you will jump from one to the next and forget about reality for a good while, trust me! It's an underdog-goes-OP story with a unique magic system, fast-paced action and unending character progression that's quite addictive. This first installment is widely considered to be the weakest book in the series, which means that if you like it you will most certainly LOVE the rest of the series!
Important addendum: if you are a broke pleb like me and buying this book would mean parting with a significant amount of your precious sats, just DM me and I'll hook you up with a free copy. But if you have the mean$ I strongly suggest that you purchase an original hardcover or ebook copy to support this great author!
That's it! See you at the next one! Stay tuned for more recommendations every week and also check the #plebreads hashtag or my public bookmarks for all of them.
