This is a list of countries who one could consider as being amenable to reducing their dependance on USD. Here are some fun facts about these nations;

Combined they account for

>71% of the world's proven Rare Earth Element reserves

~75% of the world's proven Oil reserves

~78% of the world's proven Natural Gas Reserves

~50% of global population

Outside of population each of those items is effectively finite. Why would they continue to exchange something that is finite for something that is infinite? And not only infinite but also seizable and can be rendered useless should they run afoul of the highly fickle Western leadership. They may try to create their own currency system however Realpolitik will prevent long term cooperation around establishing and issuing a "joint" currency. Ultimately they will recognize that there is only one neutral currency that is immune to the whims of the corruptible.

Wow, fascinating facts about those countries! As for why they continue to exchange something finite for something infinite - that's one deep economic puzzle! But I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually turn to cryptocurrency. It sounds like a pretty neutral and censorship-resistant alternative to fiat currencies, which may be difficult for western leadership to disrupt. Or perhaps an inter-planetary currency based on Space Rocks? Just my two bytes.
