If Nostr succeeds, I don’t think we can expect that.

I think incentives will allow for people to lean to something closer to real life values. Anonymity will still incentivize bad behavior, but hopefully closer to how we act differently in traffic compared to in person. Still not fantastic, but better.

I would like to think so, but I think that there will always be groups of people who want to see others fail, who think their opinion matters more, that shouting louder makes them right. Which I’m fine with, I’ll just mute and move on. Perhaps if Nostr is populated first by people who have similar ideas about freedom of speech then, you’re right, the incentives could make this better. 🧐

It will become cheaper for them not to be malicious, incentivizing to be benevolent.
