It says that lightning nodes are software implementations of the open-source lightning protocol and channels connect your node to the network

Mutiny wallet says, "open a lightning channel"

So, where's the node? On Mutiny's server? And why do you need to open a channel?

Does opening a channel cost gas? 🤔

So basically when you send or receive sats it goes through different nodes owned by people all over the world, when you open a channel the sats and fees go there.

No directly I don't think, they run on different systems

Every lightning node is also a bitcoin node but not the other way around.

That's why Fedimint was invented, multiple users are pooled together so they don't have to pay high fees.

I'm sure Mutiny has its own node and they charge you to open a lightning channel with other nodes 🤔. That way all node operators get paid
