seems like the desire for self custodial lightning has all but vanished with everyone flocking to primal wallet or what not 😮💨

The real issue is that self custodial lightning LNURL addresses are basically non existent for normal people.
Nostr zaps require LNURL.
Devs apparently can’t make LNURL work for self custodial plebs. I’ve tried for two years, it simply doesn’t work.
So custodial solutions are the only way forward for nostr zaps. And zaps are the only innovation nostr’s got.
Primal is going to be the superior client for normies i can agree more with this. But to say all clients need to go this route is weird to me and a big change of tune. I dont like primal because they do cater to a certain crowd and thats wak. I will tell normies to get on nostr through primal just because its simple but tell them amethyst or damus or snort is way better because you see the whole nostr world not just the catered few
