The Shorter Catechism defines theft as, "whatsoever doth or may unjustly hinder our own or our neighbor’s wealth or outward estate."

Inflation certainly qualifies, and therefore the US Dollar is constantly violating the 8th commandment against every one of it's citizens, with the exception of those who are close to the money spigot.
