Approve of this behavior to a certain extent. Once had a 6 month temp contract on my team at Citi. She was good at the job, dependable, and wanted to join full time at the end of the 6 months. HR and management wouldn’t approve because she didn’t have a bachelors degree even though she would report to me and I wanted to hire her. One of the many reasons I ended up leaving.
