On a personal level, my builder is gradually taking a larger and larger percentage of his pay in Bitcoin. All the material costs are still paid in fiat, but his personal salary is being paid, in part, in Bitcoin.
I believe it reflects what he can afford to keep in reserve, i.e. he has kids and a home and a mortgage which are outgoings that he has to pay in fiat, but he manages to keep a percentage back in savings each month which is increasingly stored in Bitcoin.
That’s great man, not had too much luck finding people to accept bitcoin directly, other than on BTCMap and going out of my way to go there
I like the approach though of being fiscally responsible for the fiat obligations, having emergency funds etc covered then keeping savings in something that can’t be debased away from you
Does he accept bitcoin from you just on his own lightning wallet or does he go through something like Strike Business / Swiss Bitcoin Pay

He also buys Bitcoin when he has spare money.
I started him off on Wallet of Satoshi for a small amount, then moved him to Aqua for his larger stash. He hasn't got to the stage of needing a hardware wallet yet.
Ah neat! I like aqua but they only let you have dollars for the currency which confused my barber when I got her to take some as tips
Hopefully they have updated that, not installed it in a while so they may have done
I had a deal with my cafe/bar owner up north where I could buy one beer per visit with bitcoin over to a breez wallet I helped him set up (cause it had PoS mode but in retrospect wallet of Satoshi was a better idea)
He’s moved on since but certainly would enjoy having someone else local to send sats to.
Interesting, I've just checked my Aqua wallet and it is displaying in GBP for me.
Our local Oxford Bitcoin meet up pub was Orange pilled by our group, they now take Bitcoin.
