It's so nice to hear you say this. I'm coming at it from a kind of different angle from more of a podcast thing. I completely agree with you that turning on my computer feels like I should be responding to email not being creative.
But I will say, editing spoken narration in software is very nice. I want to shift to a tape-first work flow but being able to cut, denoise, and add software noise gates is kinda nice.
Lastly, I'm also trying to get into electronic music. I picked up my first synth and I'm trying to experiment with synth effects on a trumpet (recorded not live).
Problem is, I'm not great at either instrument but hey, it's fun 😀
