links are not illegal, hosting the content is illegal. This is like saying the content addressable hash of something is illegal which is ridiculous.

I promise you if I sent you a link to CP and you dialed up the FBI, I'd run into some legal trouble.

The law doesn't care about your engineering model.

Pretty sure they would put effort into going to the domain to take down the content then go after potentially thousands of backlinks all across the internet.

It says providers have to report content hosted somewhere instead of recklessly hosting or doing nothing to remove them.

Relays should do their best to stop these links, but my point is that it doesn’t actually solve anything when you can get the links from relays that don’t do this filtering.

How many NOSTR relays are there hosting a bunch of content, realistically? 20?

Once most clients switch to outbox model it could be potentially hundreds of thousands or more once we scale this up
