how can i make my phone less addictive?
Discussion
Use it with greyscale
in iOS settings or an app i got to download for that?
Turn off all push notifications.
Now you control your phone, it doesn't control you.
(I only have WoS giving me notifications)
Yeah, I have most of my notifications turned off also, not a single Damus notification turned either
Make it inconvenient. Rather than use the apps directly log in to the websites on the browser. Automatically clear history, cookies and passwords so that you'll manually have to put in all the information
I’ve uninstalled Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook apps for that very reason 💜
Don’t use legacy social media apps of any kind.
have X for football content and memes, if i’d have that kind of content and discussion on nostr, i’d delete in in an instant
I think you have your answer.
just because i want to consume something, doesn’t mean i want to create it on nostr
I hear you on that. There were some things on Twitter that I liked to consume, along with the YouTube app. I especially miss having that one, but after deleting it, I use my phone with a lot more intention and not instinctively scrolling while waiting in line somewhere. Always there are tradeoffs.
yeah, i like watching podcasts a lot, helps me keep more concentrated (especially because of the subtitles support)
you win some, you lose some
Turn off all notifications.
Remove all social media apps.. but Nostr.
Nostr is 80% of my screentime, now what?
Black and white mode
Just throw it away
