My favorite part of Mark Carney's book so far is when he illustrates the central bank’s accountability, transparency, and legitimacy by referencing the faces on its banknotes.

When Carney began his tenure at the Bank of England, there was a noticeable lack of diversity among the historical figures featured on the notes. Activist Caroline Criado led a campaign advocating for greater female representation.

Carney and his colleagues pushed hard to make this change, demonstrating their commitment to transparency and accountability.

Truly stunning and brave.

He must have known he was risking his career but did the right thing anyway!
