I think it's fine for what it's supposed to be.

I agree, we need to improve the compression on amethyst to get a better user experience.
Majority of users have no idea about resolution, codec nor Bitrate. They just want vlog videos that steam fast!

You don't have to do any of that. You can use your own custom chosen media servers.
Sure. I do. But, that's basically the default and there's no informed consent considerations at all. That's what makes me extra salty about it. Nothing in the way of faulting nostr.build as they are one of the best nostr services, period. They are very upfront about what they do with your data, but, it still pisses me off because we CANNOT rely on the worst offenders of centralization to "police" content.
I'm also not technically skilled enough to run my own server and I certainly don't have the bandwidth to do so, either, and likely never will since I'll be moving even more remote and will have even less constant internet access. I don't know enough about VPSs to be able to set one up to do any of this stuff and I know enough to know that I'm not going to yolo things that can doxx me or worse.
