Interesting. How is it different than signal?

p2p

I don't use Signal but if it's not P2P then im melting.

some of signal is p2p, simplex is not

there is arguments for against p2p because it exposes your ip, but you can use a vpn etc

you wont get the same performance you get from keet p2p from anything else, you can drop 4k movies in chat

it seems p2p is about to take over

“Each message queue passes messages in one direction, with the different send and receive addresses.

It reduces the attack vectors, compared with traditional message brokers, and available meta-data.” - nostr:npub1exv22uulqnmlluszc4yk92jhs2e5ajcs6mu3t00a6avzjcalj9csm7d828

not passing thru an nsa compromised device also reduces attack vectors

Nice recommendations. I want to know more about the functionalities and differences between Signal and SimpleX and then this new app you're bringing up. Signal requiring a phone number is a non starter for me. Plus they've been compromised a fee times. No thanks.

SimpleX isn't P2P is surprising. So your messages are sent via? Relays? The dev seems legit and lots of people vouch for it since I don't have the expertise to audit the code myself.

I run Tor and then SimpleX.

Will be interesting to try Keet.

I'll also check out Seth for Privacy's podcast.

you can make a signal account with online sms some free, still dumb signal needs a phone

there is a fork of signal, no phone uses a tor like network lokinet https://getsession.org/

this might be helpful https://bkil.gitlab.io/secuchart/

it lists most messengers

p2p makes running your own server(relay) far more easier
